Limited Capacity filling up

Are your teachers delivering grades that truly reflect student learning? Are you ready to break away from the traditional reporting system? Standards-based reporting is emerging as a highly effective practice which enhances teaching and learning and inherently focuses the communication about what students know and what they are able to do. Based on the presenters’ own experience, this collaborative and hands-on workshop will lead participants to: - Learn about the profound impact a shift to standards-based reporting can have on teaching and learning - Identify key steps in implementing standards-based reporting to ensure a successful rollout - Recognize potential pitfalls in the process from first-hand accounts by presenters and colleagues - Examine standards-based report cards from the presenters’ school - Begin to develop an initial plan for launching the change in your school If time permits, the session will also explore how this reporting facilitates improved curriculum documentation and ultimately aids in the teaching and learning process.

Educational Coaching for a Healthy-Happy School (1 Hour)
Limited Capacity filling up

We all know that educators are considered to be the main educational force of a school.

New trends in education put an emphasis on a wide range of aspects that schools and especially educators have to revisit, review, reformulate, rearrange, learn and eventually apply so that the students have a successful educational experience.

Therefore, it would be essential for any school to have an educational team that is motivated, united, committed, and sound academically and emotionally. With a team like that any educational program would work wonders!

Students that are educated by motivated, engaged, committed and happy educators, immerse in this enriching and nutritious universe, will have the privilege to be part of a transcendental educational journey.

Now, taking all this into account, are schools concerned about making sure that their educators are motivated and happy?

What is being done and what needs improvement?

This project aims at approaching school management from a different angle: how to foster healthy, nourishing and positive relationships with/among the educators, the staff, and the administration, having in place standards for staff wellbeing that promote happiness and a spirit of communion among all of the members of a school.

Please bring your school's statements with you (vision, mission, educational philosophies, core values, etc.). You may bring them printed or accessible online.

Fomentando la ciudadanía digital en nuestros estudiantes (1 Hora)
Limited Capacity seats available

Valient Voices (1 Hour)
Limited Capacity seats available

Building student voices starts before our children even walk through the door on the first day of school when we #setthestagetoengage. This is a continual process that builds on foundations of trust, respect, and honesty between teachers and students and peer to peer.  Educators will learn the value of student self and peer reflection. This creates unique, authentic, and dynamic opportunities for students to share their work and uses technology as a meaningful application to amplify their voices.

Teachers will walk away from this session with new ideas around student led conferences, student managed portfolios, growth mindset, goal setting, and much more. Additionally, educators will learn quick wins and easy ways to adapt what they are already doing to better suit the needs of empowering their 21st century students.

Content Based Learning/Cooperative Learning (1 Hour)
Limited Capacity seats available

During this workshop, we will take a deep dive into content based, cooperative learning, discuss several key ideas, including:
  • It can make learning a language more exciting and motivating. Teachers/Participants can use the word to fulfill a real purpose, which can prepare students both more independent and confident.
  • Teachers can help students develop a much more extensive knowledge of the world through CBI which can feed back into improving and supporting their general educational needs.
  • CBI is very popular among EAP (English for Academic Purposes) teachers as it helps students to develop valuable study skills such as summarising, summarising and extracting essential information from texts.
  • Teachers/Participants will extract information from different sources, re-evaluating and restructuring that information can help students to develop valuable thinking skills that can then be transferred to other subjects.
  • The inclusion of a group work element within the framework given above can also help students to develop their collaborative skills, which can have significant social value.
